Best. Vegan. Popcorn. Recipe. Ever.

I can say that because it’s not really my recipe. It’s not even really a recipe. The key to ‘take it to the next level’ popcorn is nutritional yeast, my new favorite ingredient, which I put on everything. I bump it up with generous amounts of Earth Balance and salt, and, to add that movie theatre flavour, I pop it in a few teaspoons of coconut oil. The nutritional yeast adds a rich cheesy taste that makes this a super decadent snack or even dinner if, like us, sometimes popcorn and earth balance are the only things you have in the house.

If you are health conscious you can tweak this for varying degrees of fat and sodium content, etc. However, it really is best if you don’t think about how much butter you are drenching it in and just enjoy some old school movie theatre-style cheesy popcorn.

Recipe (to taste):

Popcorn, popped in coconut oil

Earth Balance (a quarter cup for a salad size bowl)

Nutritional Yeast to taste

Salt to taste
